Troops Ready to Tackle Security Threats During Ramadan — DHQ

The Defense Headquarters (DHQ) said that soldiers all over the country are ready to handle any problems with safety, especially as the Muslim community starts Ramadan.

The DHQ said this at the same time as the Department of State Services (DSS) said good wishes to Christians during Lent and Muslims getting ready for Ramadan.

The DSS asked people to stay careful, especially about Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).

The DHQ said it’s important for people to know about possible dangers, and it’s best not to gather in big or suspicious places.

They also said people should quickly tell security people if they see strange things happening.

The DHQ spokesperson said, “The military is still determined to beat terrorists and their friends, and to destroy their safe places all over the country. We’re very serious about protecting the country and the people who live here.”

The DHQ said soldiers did a lot of good work during the week. They stopped over 210 terrorists, arrested 142, caught 66 people stealing oil, rescued 46 kidnapped people, and found a lot of weapons and bullets.

In the South-South region, soldiers stopped people from stealing oil, which saved around N2.2 billion.

They also found and destroyed 63 pits, 46 boats, and 120 tanks used for making oil illegally.

They found equipment for making oil illegally, cars, phones, and lots of stolen oil and fuel.

The DHQ said they are still working hard to keep the country safe and steady. They’re working on stopping terrorism, rebellion, and other crimes.
