The Troops of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army have executed a meticulously planned operation resulting in the demolition of a notorious kidnappers’ den, the successful rescue of a victim, and the apprehension of three suspected perpetrators in the Taraba State region.
The operation unfolded in the remote yet significant locale of Kofa Adamu village within the Takum Local Government Area, where criminal elements had entrenched themselves, preying on innocent civilians with impunity.
Prompted by actionable intelligence regarding the nefarious activities and hideout of suspected kidnappers, who had brazenly abducted Mr. Hussein Adamu on March 26, 2024, from the very heart of Kofa Adamu village, the valiant troops from the 93 Battalion/Sub-Sect 3A OPWS swiftly mobilized, deploying strategic measures to encircle and neutralize the criminal stronghold.
Their relentless efforts culminated in the safe liberation of the captive victim, whose harrowing ordeal had been compounded by the demand of a hefty ransom totaling 2 million Naira by the abductors.
Moreover, the operation yielded significant results as three individuals suspected to be directly involved in the heinous abduction were apprehended, swiftly bringing them to justice and potentially disrupting further criminal activities orchestrated by their network.
The apprehended suspects are now under the custody of the military, where they are undergoing rigorous interrogation to glean vital intelligence that could unravel additional criminal enterprises and safeguard the community from future threats.
The rescued victim, having endured a traumatic period of captivity, is currently receiving much-needed medical attention at a secure facility, where dedicated medical personnel are attending to both the physical and psychological wounds inflicted by the ordeal.
