In an active effort to maintain peace and security, the Nigerian Army recently conducted successful clearance operations in the states of Borno and Nasarawa.
These operations involved thorough searches and cordoning off of areas suspected of harboring terrorists and criminals.
On April 19, 2024, troops, in collaboration with a hybrid force, executed a clearance operation in Kana Village, Biu Local Government Area of Borno State.
While conducting the operation, troops engaged with terrorists near Nguma Village, resulting in the neutralization of two terrorists.
Additionally, the troops recovered two AK-47 rifles, a motorbike, six bicycles, and various other items left behind by the fleeing terrorists. The clearance operation is still ongoing in the broader area.
Simultaneously, on the same day, acting on credible intelligence, Nigerian Army troops deployed in Nasarawa State conducted a Cordon and Search operation at suspected criminals’ hideouts around Abuni Village in Awe Local Government Area.
This operation led to the recovery of two AK-47 rifles, two AK-47 magazines, and 35 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition (Special).
Notably, these weapons were discovered in the residence of one Mr. Abdullahi Musa, which subsequently led to the arrest of additional suspects.
These successful operations underscore the unwavering commitment of the troops to ensure the safety and security of the populace.
It’s crucial for members of the public to continue supporting the Nigerian Army, along with other services and security agencies, by providing timely and credible information to aid ongoing operations.
