Troops eliminate 3 Boko Haram members and rescue 9 hostages in Borno

The Nigerian Troops belonging to the 21 Armoured Brigade, operating under Operation Hadin Kai, have reported a successful engagement with three Boko Haram terrorists in Bama local government area of Borno State.

The encounter took place in Churchur village during a coordinated fighting patrol led by the 202 Battalion in collaboration with hybrid forces. Alongside neutralizing the terrorists, the operation resulted in the liberation of nine hostages.

Additionally, intelligence sources, including Zagazola Makama, a Counter-Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad region, confirmed the recovery of two dane guns during the operation.

In a separate mission conducted on March 30, 2024, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force and hybrid forces, troops carried out clearance operations in Angwan Jingina and Bula Marwa.

This endeavor led to the successful rescue of nine individuals, comprising three adult females and six children, from the grips of the insurgents.

Furthermore, the troops effectively dismantled Boko Haram camps located in the hamlets of Angwan Jingina and Bula Marwa, forcing the terrorists to flee the area.

The operations signify ongoing efforts by security forces to combat terrorism and restore peace and stability in the region.
