Troops Eliminate 3 B’Haram Terrorists, Loss 2 Soldiers in Yobe

The Military High Command said the troops of Combat Team 1, Operation KANTANA JIMLAN have eliminated three (3) dreaded Boko Haram terrorists on long-range admin patrol while two (2) soldiers also paid the supreme price with many others with various degrees of injury along Buni Yadi – Buni Gari axis, in Yobe State.

The incident was log on encountered multiple Improvised Explosive Devices and Boko Haram Terrorists’ ambush, eight kilometres ahead of Buni-Gari in Gujba Local Government Area on Monday.

According to a statement by the Directorate of Defence Media Operations (DDMO), Major General John Enenche on Wednesday said a recovery truck, one troop-carrying vehicle and a water tanker that ran into the IED were destroyed by fire.

He stressed that due to mental snap occasioned by the fog of war, two of the soldiers who escaped the IED and terrorists’ ambush recorded the incident with uncomplimentary remarks would undergo some mental rehabilitation in due course.

“Although this kind of outburst is expected in war, the soldiers involved have been identified and would undergo observation and counselling,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Military High Command commends troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE for their unwavering determination, hard work and resilience.

The Media Coordinator, therefore, reiterated that Armed Forces of Nigeria will remain unwavering in its quest to end the terrorism and will do everything possible to ensure there is no repeat of this kind of traumatic incident.
