In a heart-wrenching turn of events, popular Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Patoranking, is mourning the tragic loss of his younger sister, Chioma, and her husband, George.
The couple reportedly passed away following a horrific gas explosion at their home.
This sad news comes shortly after Patoranking had joyfully celebrated his daughter’s sixth birthday, where he expressed deep love and pride for her.
The devastating incident was brought to light by Instagram blogger, Cutie Juls, who shared that the explosion occurred just one day after the family had celebrated both the opening of their new home and their child’s birthday. What was meant to be a joyous occasion quickly turned into a nightmare.
According to the report, Chioma tragically lost her life immediately after the explosion. Her husband, George, initially survived the blast but sadly succumbed to his injuries on September 11, 2024, despite efforts to save him.
Cutie Juls went on to reveal that Patoranking made extraordinary attempts to help save his brother-in-law’s life, even purchasing a large amount of blood for the hospital in hopes of saving him. His aim was to ensure that their child would not be left an orphan, as Patoranking had a particularly close bond with his sister.
In the heartfelt post, the blogger urged Patoranking’s friends and colleagues to offer their support during this incredibly difficult time. The emotional message read:
“Remember when I posted last week or so that Patoranking’s sister passed away in a gas explosion incident in their home and the husband and the child were battling for their lives. The husband also couldn’t make it, he just passed away. Patoranking tried so much, buying tons of blood to help save his brother-in-law’s life, so at least his nephew won’t be born an orphan. Remember, he loves his sister so, so much. Please, his friends should check up on him.”
