Popular Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage recently hinted that the Nigerian music scene might be facing its own “Diddy moment.”
The comment, made during an interview with The Beat 99.9 FM in Lagos, seemed to suggest that the industry may be dealing with issues similar to those surrounding American music executive Sean Combs, also known as Diddy, who is currently embroiled in legal battles.
Diddy has faced serious allegations, including charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transporting people across state lines for prostitution.
Following a raid at his Beverly Hills mansion in March, federal agents reportedly seized various items intended for gatherings dubbed “freak offs,” which allegedly involved drugs and over a thousand bottles of baby oil.
After Diddy was arrested by Homeland Security in September, he pleaded not guilty to the charges. Despite this, his requests for bail were denied twice, turning the once-celebrated music mogul into a global headline.
Adding to the intrigue, Nigerian comedian-turned-singer Oluwadolarz recently claimed that a gay music executive had demanded sexual favors in exchange for promoting his music, a proposition he ultimately refused.
This revelation sparked conversation online, with notable industry figure Don Jazzy even challenging Oluwadolarz to name the alleged music executive, a call that, so far, has gone unanswered.
