President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is scheduled to sit in the front row and address the United Nations General Assembly, UNGA, in a prominent speaking slot, Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, has said.
Senator Ibrahim disclosed this while speaking to newsmen on Nigeria’s participation at the upcoming session of the UNGA.
“President Tinubu will be sitting very, very close to Donald Trump in the front row of the United Nations General Assembly, that you get from me,” Ibrahim said. “Don’t ask me how that was arranged, but he will be sitting. The President of Nigeria will be sitting in the front row.”
The Permanent Representative added that President Tinubu is also slated to deliver Nigeria’s address at a strategic time during the session.
“And he’ll be speaking at a time when Nigeria will not be sleeping,” he stated.
The UN General Assembly is expected to bring together world leaders to discuss pressing global issues including peace, security, development, and multilateral cooperation.
