As Nigerians prepare to mark 66 years of independence, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to speak to the nation in a broadcast scheduled for Thursday morning.
Tinubu will address Nigerians at 7 a.m. on October 1 as part of activities marking the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
The nationwide address will be broadcast through the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN).
In a statement made available to The News Chronicle on Wednesday, Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, urged television and radio stations, as well as other electronic media outlets, to hook up to the NTA and FRCN network services for the broadcast.
The address is expected to form a major part of the President’s Independence Day message to Nigerians as the country enters its 67th year as an independent nation.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will address the nation on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 7 a.m., to mark Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary,” the statement added.
