Tinubu-Shettima 2027 Movement Unveils Plan for Nationwide Mobilisation

The National Movement for Tinubu-Shettima 2027 — Forward Nigeria has developed a comprehensive Programme of Action to drive nationwide consultations and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The movement disclosed this in a statement jointly signed by members of its Interim National Coordinating Committee, led by Prof. Rufa’i Ahmed Alkali, National Coordinator; Dr Bassey Rekpene, National Coordinating Secretary; and Ardo Zubairu, National Media Coordinator, on Thursday in Abuja.

The committee said it had initially planned to formally unveil the movement on Tuesday but postponed the event to allow for further consultations and organisational preparations.

It said a new date for the formal launch would be announced shortly.

According to the interim leadership, the movement has made significant progress in establishing its philosophical, organisational and operational structures.

It said one of its key documents, the Mandate Document, provides the foundation for the movement by outlining its philosophy, objectives, organisational structure and strategic direction.

The group also said it had developed a National Covenant outlining its position on the 2027 elections and the reasons behind its support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The movement said its support for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket was based on the belief that the 2027 election would provide an opportunity for Nigerians to assess the country’s progress in economic transformation, national security, political stability and sustainable development.

The 2027 election must go beyond personal issues and propaganda. It should provide Nigerians an opportunity to assess competing visions, evaluate national progress and make informed choices about the leadership and policies best suited to advancing the country’s interests,” the committee said.

The group added that it was strengthening its communication and administrative infrastructure through its official website, email platforms, WhatsApp channels and dedicated telephone lines.

It also disclosed that consultations with stakeholders and members across Nigeria and in the diaspora had commenced.

We are engaging members nationwide and beyond to establish their level of commitment, identify areas of competence and interest, and determine the responsibilities they are prepared to undertake. The response has been encouraging,” it said.

The movement said it would soon launch a structured national mobilisation programme to establish a strong presence across states, local government areas and communities.

It added that details of upcoming programmes, including dates, venues and participation arrangements, would be released through its official channels.

The committee stressed that effective political participation requires organisation beyond enthusiasm.

“Elections are not won by enthusiasm alone. Organisation, communication, mobilisation, commitment and responsible civic participation remain indispensable,” it said.

It urged members and supporters to strengthen their networks, deepen community engagement, identify areas where they could contribute and prepare for the political activities ahead.

The movement said its primary objective was to build a broad-based, disciplined, credible and nationally representative support platform for the Tinubu-Shettima 2027 project, anchored on the broader vision of a stronger, more prosperous, secure and stable Nigeria.

The National Movement for Tinubu-Shettima 2027 — Forward Nigeria is not conceived merely as another political support platform; it is intended to provide a credible national vehicle through which Nigerians who share this vision can participate actively, responsibly and constructively in shaping the country’s political future,” the committee said.

It consequently called on Nigerians who support continuity, stability, development, national cohesion and progressive governance to join the emerging mobilisation.
