Tinubu Salutes Modi as He Becomes India’s Longest-Serving Elected Prime Minister

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on reaching a historic milestone as India’s longest-serving elected leader.

In a statement, Tinubu said the achievement reflects the enduring confidence and trust the Indian people have placed in Modi across three consecutive mandates, describing his tenure as one defined by dedication to public service, national development, and influential global leadership.

He commended Modi’s leadership style, noting that his impact continues to inspire millions worldwide and strengthen India’s position on the global stage.

Beyond diplomatic ties, Tinubu described Modi as both a close friend of Nigeria and a personal ally, saying he has “deeply admired his wisdom, courage, and commitment to the progress and prosperity of his nation.”

Recalling Modi’s conferment of Nigeria’s Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON) on him, Tinubu said the honor reflects his contribution to deepening bilateral relations between the two countries.

He wished the Indian leader continued good health, wisdom, and success as he leads India toward further growth and prosperity.
