Tinubu! Listen as Eagles Listened!

Tinubu's Certificate Chicago State

Few days ago, the reaction of Nigeria President, his Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu made waves on social media. In his reaction through his Special aid on Media and Publicity, he asked the Super Eagles to up their games from a lacklustre level to something befitting to the agility, swiftness and accuracy of an Eagle ( paraphrase is mine). He was not happy with their performance, even though they qualified for the round of 16.

As much as Mr. President’s reaction was a true description of the reality of their performance, social media never spared him. Angry Nigerians changed it for him. Their anger wasn’t on the true assessment of their performance, but the moral justification he has to stand on such high pedestal of judgment to assess a team that seems far better than his team, whose sense of inefficiency brought more pains, woes and embarrassment to Nigerians than the poor performance of the Super Eagles.

If there was anybody to do such assessments, certainly not Tinubu, a mere reflection of pot calling kettle black.

In what looked so dramatic, a performance never seen in their last three games, their next match was impressive. I guess the Super Eagles weren’t hard of hearing. They didn’t show signs of incorrigiblity. They were receptive to inputs, worked around them and came out with a far better result.

Can Mr President act in this manner and strength of the Super Eagles? Can he listen to the cry and criticisms of the poor masses and readjust for better result as Super Eagles did?

It is always very easy to act as great counselling expert in matters and issues that affect others but gets tongue tied and wisdom starved when such becomes ones ordeal.

Mr . President! We are saying in an amplified manner that your leadership style isn’t dynamic enough to change the bad narratives of Nigeria today.

We are saying that the skills and artistry of some of your team members are very unimpressive.

We are saying Mr. President, that your eight months of play in the political field of Nigeria is filled with yellow cards, over the bar attempts, miss of penalty kicks and cheap conceding of goals.

We are particularly peeved by the very uncountable own goals you and your team have caused Nigerians.

Can you just like the Super Eagles listen and give us a cheering result? With the speed and urgency the Super Eagles did theirs?

Now that they heeded to your advice can you heed to ours? You can do better! Nigerians wail and their woes very excruciating Mr. President!

Congratulations to our Super Eagles for such an impressive win over the Indomitable lions of Cameroon even against well orchestrated prophesy of yahoo plus “God of Men”.
