Tinubu Has Date With Southeast – Soludo Hails Approval of Two Major Roads

Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Soludo, has hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the design and procurement of two major road projects in the Southeast, describing the move as a “critical game-changer” for the region.
In a post on his X handle on Thursday, Governor Soludo said the President’s action demonstrates his commitment to the reconstruction of the Southeast and to healing the wounds of the Civil War.
“Certainly, President Tinubu has a date with history, and even more so with the Southeast. He continues to demonstrate his avowed commitment to orchestrating the reconstruction of the Southeast.” Soludo wrote.
According to the Governor, he met with President Tinubu on July 1, after which the Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, requested details of priority roads. Soludo submitted two projects on July 3. The first is the Otuocha–Anam–Abaji (Kogi) Road, about 108km to be dualized. The second is the Oba–Nnewi–Uga–Ihube (Okigwe Junction) Road, about 150km to be dualized, connecting Anambra and Imo to the Enugu–PH Road through Abia.
On July 15, the Governor said he received word from the Ministry of Works that the President had approved both roads for “design and procurement.”
Soludo noted that the two roads will be transformative not just for the Southeast, but also for the South-South and North Central regions.
“The man who tamed the Atlantic Ocean in Lagos is certainly redefining politics, and the Southeast won’t be the same again!” he said.
“For me personally, this is why politics makes sense to me: working collaboratively and building alliances to achieve concrete results that improve the lives of the people.”
The Governor added that more “unprecedented, foundational infrastructural rebirths” are ongoing in the Southeast and promised to give the full list later.
