Tinubu Grants Approval for College and Agricultural Institutions in Borno

President Bola Tinubu has agreed to support important education and farming plans in Borno State.

Governor Babagana Zulum shared this news after meeting with President Tinubu. They talked about starting the Federal College of Education in Gwoza, which was set up before but didn’t start working.

Zulum had asked for this, and Tinubu agreed to get it going. This is big news for the people of Borno State.

“I saw Mr. President on some issues relating to my state. One of the issue is that of the take-off the Federal College of Education, Gwoza”.

“You will recall that the previous administration had established some federal institutions but unfortunately, not all of them have taken off.”

“However, I wrote to Mr. President on the need for the takeoff of the Federal College of Education Gwoza, few months ago.

“I’m pleased to notify you that the President has given approval for the immediate takeoff of the Federal College of Education Gwoza.”

They also discussed farming. Zulum talked about restarting the South Chad Irrigation Project and Yauri Irrigation Scheme.

These projects can help grow more food, especially in the northern part of Nigeria. But because of insecurity in the area, these projects couldn’t progress much.

Tinubu promised to help with security so that farmers can safely use the lands for agriculture. Zulum thinks restarting these projects can help with food security for the whole country.

Besides education and farming, Zulum got Tinubu’s support to bring back Nigerian refugees living in Chad, Niger, and Cameroon.

This process started before but got stopped because of elections and rainy seasons. About 100,000 people have already come back, but there might be more who need to return.

Zulum plans to talk with the National Commission for Refugees and others to figure out how many more refugees need to come back.
