Tinubu Departs For France On 3-Day State Visit Wednesday

President Bola Tinubu is set to leave Abuja on Wednesday for a state visit to France, following an invitation from President Emmanuel Macron.

This three-day visit aims to enhance political, economic, and cultural ties between Nigeria and France, with a particular focus on fostering partnerships in sectors such as agriculture, security, education, health, youth engagement and employment, innovation, and energy transition.

The trip is expected to yield significant advantages for Nigeria.

On Thursday, President Tinubu and his wife, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, will be welcomed at the historic Les Invalides military museum and the Palais de l’Élysée by President Macron and his spouse, Brigitte.

During their meetings, both leaders plan to align their perspectives on promoting interest in exchange programs aimed at skill development for youth, enhancing competencies in automation, entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership.

The agenda also includes political and diplomatic discussions that will emphasize shared values regarding finance, solid minerals, trade and investments, and communication. Additionally, they will attend a session organized by the France-Nigeria Business Council to discuss private sector involvement in economic development.

Brigitte Macron will engage with Nigeria’s First Lady to discuss initiatives to empower women, children, and vulnerable populations through the Renewed Hope Initiative.

Before returning to Nigeria, President Tinubu and his wife will be honored with a state dinner hosted by President Macron.

A delegation of senior government officials will accompany the Nigerian President during this visit.
