President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Governor Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election as Governor of Anambra State, describing the victory as a testament to visionary leadership and effective governance.
In a statement issued on Sunday, President Tinubu said Soludo’s overwhelming win in Saturday’s poll made him the third governor in Anambra’s history to secure a second term in office.
The President also lauded the people of Anambra State, the security agencies, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for ensuring a peaceful and credible election.
“Professor Soludo’s re-election reflects the trust and confidence the people have in his leadership and the progress Anambra has made under his watch,” Tinubu said.
He praised Soludo fondly known as Mr Solution for demonstrating how knowledge, discipline, and transparency can drive good governance.
Recalling his visit to Anambra in May to inaugurate key projects, Tinubu said the governor’s innovative approach and commitment to development were “remarkable and indelible.”
“I commend Governor Soludo for bringing brilliance, grace, and fresh thinking to governance in Anambra. Under him, the state truly lives up to its motto as the Light of the Nation,” he said.
Tinubu urged the governor to be magnanimous in victory and extend a hand of cooperation to his opponents, assuring him of the Federal Government’s continued partnership.
The President also commended the new INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, and his team for conducting what observers described as a credible election.
“The success of this poll reinforces the vitality of our democracy and shows that victory for any hardworking leader cannot be denied,” Tinubu stated.
He urged INEC to sustain the standard and continue improving Nigeria’s electoral process.
