Tinubu Can’t blame Buhari, He Vowed to Continue His Policies -Buba Galadima

Buba Galadima, a prominent figure in the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has voiced strong criticism of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s pledge to continue the policies of his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari.
In an interview with Saturday Sun in Abuja, Galadima described Tinubu’s promise as a continuation of problematic governance.
Galadima argued that Tinubu’s commitment to uphold Buhari’s policies contradicts his administration’s efforts to distance itself from the current national challenges.
“Tinubu should take responsibility for his office, having stated his intent to follow Buhari’s footsteps. It is unfair to now blame Buhari,” Galadima asserted.
As a former ally of Buhari, Galadima expressed his dissatisfaction with the current situation, saying, “Everyone knows Buhari damaged the economy and security, but Tinubu promised to build on what Buhari left. He can’t blame Buhari now.”
Galadima also voiced his opposition to the establishment of state police, cautioning that it could be misused and have negative repercussions for governors in the future.
In response to allegations of nepotism against Tinubu, Galadima pointed out that the presidential system often involves appointing trusted individuals.
He drew parallels with historical examples from the United States, such as President Kennedy appointing his brother as Attorney-General, to illustrate that such practices are common.
“What matters is accountability and good governance, not who is appointed,” Galadima said.
