Thieves were here

We wake to wonder

As we see a ‘scatter’

Ours is not as it was

But a heart, lonelier than the loner,

Noisier than the palace, the king

Always at the centre and for the owner

Can be guarded by no other

Thieves were here

And trust is gone

Is it what was stolen

Or what we since lost
