The “Beautiful Or Anyhow God”?

My Farm! Our Lives!!

That is my impression! I may be wrong anyway. But over the years, some Christians unconsciously have built two worlds for God. The first world, for the “beautiful and handsome God” who nobody dares to approach wearing anything. And the second world, for the seeming “anyhow God” who careless, bothers not, how anybody comes before him.

These two worlds are imagined in the subconscious mind of many Christians who consciously through their dressing and carriage , show the kind of God they are going before, for suplication, prayers and fellowship.

It baffles me however to note how some people get discouraged to go to church on Sundays over not having something to wear. Same persons don’t go naked, they are seen in market places and other social gathering spots, not in nudeness but clad in apparels, they obviously think are raggy enough for the “beautiful God” of Sunday.

Beside this, there is another brand of Christians who are too conscious of their appearance on Sundays but wouldn’t care much about their appearance during weekday Masses.

They get amazingly gorgeous, glowing with jewelries, stunning with make ups, scented with great fragrance, shoed up, tied and well suited or clad in a well sewned safaris etc for Sunday Masses.

Same brand of Christians would come for weekday Masses almost in rags and no class or breathtaking appearance.

What is it about Sunday Masses? Is the God of Sunday Masses more fashionista than weekday Masses God? Who before he looks at anyone, answers prayers etc one must come dress to kill?

The knock on effect or rather the domino effect of this trending mindset is, it makes one shift attention from the substance which is sincere worship and fellowship with God to the accident which is about wears, appearance, class and flaunting of expensive accessories.

Many people come to Sunday Masses to show off, make fashion trending statements, intimidate who they want to intimidate, not necessarily for sincere intimate fellowship.

It is good to look sweet, nice, splendid, amazingly gorgeous but never allow such to take the shine off the main thing , which is prayer, worship and supplications.

Dress good not only on Sundays but on weekdays. Oftentimes, it becomes very difficult to recognise the amazingly dressed person one sees on Sunday Masses during week day Masses.

Many people ones sees on Sunday Masses with breathtaking admiration, one may likely not look at them a second time during week days Masses.

However, which of course is the main crux of this piece is that, God does not look at the externals, he looks at the internal, the heart disposition.

Come the best way you can dress and never either allow what to wear discourage you or distract you from the main thing- Jesus

The “God of Sunday Masses” is not more fashionista than “The God of week day Masses”. Look good, good neat, though cleanliness is next to godliness but our heart, the sweet fragrance that comes from it, is what appeals to God the most.

Don’t be a ” Sunday Masses over dress and weekday Masses rag dresser Christian” or one that stays away from Masses because of what to wear.

God can’t be mocked! Dressing lavishly to church on a heart that is neither broken, sweetend with Godly fragrance nor ready to make amendments is like a painted Sepulchre. Beautiful outside but stinks inside. The reality of many of us
