Nigerian singer Gabriel Oche Amanyi, known as Terry G, shared that an incident years ago hurt his career.
In June 2016, Terry G caused controversy when he slapped DJ Phreez, DJ Jimmy Jatt’s protege, at an event in Lagos for playing another artist’s song. This led the DJs Association of Nigeria (DJAN) to blacklist him.
In a recent episode of the Afrobeats Podcast, Terry G acknowledged that the incident hindered his career growth. However, he mentioned that he later apologized to DJ Phreez and DJ Jimmy Jatt.
