Terrorists Shoot Victim Kidnapped From Zamfara College of Art and Science

In the early hours of Friday, a band of terrorists forcefully entered the residence of Mr. Kabiru Umar Faruku, an individual employed at Zamfara College of Art and Science (ZACAS).

The assailants carried out an invasion, breaching the security of Mr. Faruku’s home, causing distress and fear in the process.

The incident unfolded during the initial part of Friday, marking a disturbing occurrence within the context of a targeted attack on the household of an individual associated with ZACAS, further emphasizing the vulnerability of civilians to acts of terrorism.

During the invasion in Sabon Garin Damba, Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State, they aimed to abduct Kabiru and his family.

However, not finding them, the terrorists decided to kidnap his security guard, Hassan Abdullahi, whom they encountered at the entrance.

According to a student of Mr. Kabiru, the terrorists broke into the residence but couldn’t locate Alhaji and his family, leading to the abduction of the security guard.

Hassan Abdullahi, the kidnapped man, was later confirmed by the State Police Public Relations Officer, Yazid Abubakar.

The police statement revealed that the terrorists were intercepted by the Nigeria Police Force personnel on the outskirts of Sabon Garin Damba.

During the encounter, the terrorists shot Hassan Abdullahi upon spotting the security operatives.

The police team managed to rescue Hassan, who was then promptly taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment. The incident occurred on December 29, 2023, at around 0130hrs.

The Divisional Police Officer of Damba Division swiftly organized a team of detectives for a search and rescue operation, successfully intercepting the abductors.

The confrontation resulted in the hoodlums firing at the victim’s right hand before fleeing the scene.

Despite the challenges, the victim was rescued and promptly transported to Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital for medical attention.

In response to the incident, Commissioner of Police Muhammad Shehu Dalijan psc fsi commended the efforts and timely report from the residents of Sabon Garin Damba, emphasizing their crucial role in the victim’s rescue.

The Commissioner pledged a commitment to the ongoing fight against bandits and criminal elements in Zamfara State, underscoring a determination to restore normalcy in the region.
