Afrobeats singer Teni has reacted with humor to the recent altercation involving Burna Boy and DJ Tunez, as tensions continue to build between the camps of Burna Boy and Wizkid.
The incident occurred on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Obi’s House, a private celebrity gathering in Lagos. According to eyewitness accounts and circulating videos, a disagreement began when Burna Boy approached the DJ booth where DJ Tunez was performing.
On Wednesday, April 8, Wizkid responded publicly in a strongly worded social media post criticizing Burna Boy and suggesting that the DJ had been attacked by a group.
His post read: “P*** nigga jump a DJ with 10 man carry diddy towel dey dance. I never saw a fool like this, Diddy babe, for my life.”
Some accounts claim an unreleased Burna Boy track was played without approval, while others allege that DJ Tunez prioritized Wizkid’s music and did not acknowledge Burna Boy’s presence.
The exchange escalated into a physical confrontation. DJ Tunez later accused Burna Boy of striking him from behind, writing: “YOU HIT ME IN THE BACK OF MY HEAD WITHOUT ME LOOKING! THAT’S SOME SUCKA SHiiT, MY BOY!” He also claimed the incident involved multiple individuals, stating: “1 VS 10 AND I STOOD MY GROUND.”
Members of Burna Boy’s inner circle, including Richie Richie, King Manny, and Benny, disputed that account. In an online response, Richie rejected the “10 vs 1” claim and questioned the severity of the incident. He wrote: “If na 10 men touch you, you think say you fit dey here now to dey type?” He added that videos circulating online showed only the aftermath and not the full sequence of events. While dismissing claims of a group assault, he acknowledged that DJ Tunez may have received “a slap.”
Amid the exchanges, Teni addressed the situation in a video shared online. She said she woke up to “57 missed calls” from concerned contacts advising her to hire security. Referring to the suggestion that she employ the same type of bouncers used by Kizz Daniel, she responded: “All those kinds of Kizz Daniel bouncer, them dey chop like one cow for one week.” She added that maintaining several bouncers would be financially demanding, noting: “If I come get like 7 of the bouncers, na 7 cow I go dey buy per week.”
Teni also remarked on what she described as growing unrest across the entertainment sector, stating: “Everywhere don scatter… I wan go to Nollywood but they dey fight for their too.”
As of the time of this report, Burna Boy has not issued an official personal statement regarding the incident. No formal police complaint has been reported either.
