Ten Hag to Remain as Manchester United Manager for Next Season

Erik ten Hag will remain as Manchester United manager after the club’s end-of-the season appraisal spearheaded by the club’s co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS sporting director Sir Dave Brailsford agreed to continue their partnership with the Dutchman despite the 54 years who had been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford regardless of his performance against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final last month in which he defile every odds to beat the Premier League reigning Champions on May 25, 2024 at the Wembley Stadium to lift the title.

Ten Hag’s current contract next June with an option to extend by one year, and it’s certain that the Red Devils will begin an extension process for the manager.

Though, multiple reports indicate that Ten Hag who defeated Manchester rival by 2-1 in the Carabao Cup final will be sacked regardless of his result after a review of his2023-34 season was conducted, with the Athletic reporting his possible successors in former Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel, ex-Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Roberto De Zerbi, recently departed Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino, Brentford head coach Thomas Frank and Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna.

But after the process was completed
led by United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS sporting director Sir Dave Brailsford, the club has deemed it necessary to continue with Ten Hag.

Manchester United exited the 2023-24 UEFA Champions League from the group stage finishing at the bottom of behind Bayern Munich, Copenhagen and Galatasaray.

If not for their resilience to defeat Manchester City in the Carabao Cup, they would have been with an European tournament for next season after finishing 8th in the Premier League table.

They will joined Tottenham Hotspur as English representatives in the second tier of the European competition for next season.
