Taraba workers protest economic hardship, urge government action

—

The workers’ group in Taraba State has asked the government to do something quickly about the tough times that are affecting Nigerians.

Peter Jediel, who is the head of the Nigeria Labour Congress in the state, talked for the workers at a protest on Tuesday.

He said they had enough and that their protest was peaceful. They didn’t want any violence or anything to spoil their cause.

The main problems, according to the workers, are the bad policies that have hurt workers and the whole country. They want the government to start doing what they agreed to before.

They said if the government doesn’t do anything by March 2, there will be serious problems for the economy.

They said this deadline shows how serious they are and how urgently they want the government to act.

The demonstrators advised fellow workers to brace themselves for further deterioration in their circumstances.

According to the leaders of the workers, their call for preparedness stems from a deep-seated frustration with the lack of tangible results from previous discussions.

They expressed a readiness to escalate their efforts towards more forceful measures in pursuit of their objectives.
