Taraba Govt Cuts Street Sweepers’ Salaries from N15,000 to N10,000

The Taraba State Government has reduced the monthly salaries of street sweepers working under the “Operation Keep Taraba Clean” programme from N15,000 to N10,000.

The Commissioner for Environment, Iliya Kefas, disclosed this while speaking with journalists in Jalingo on Monday.

He explained that the decision was necessary to enable the government to recruit more workers into the sanitation programme across the state.

According to the commissioner, the salary adjustment is aimed at expanding employment opportunities and improving environmental sanitation efforts in Taraba State.

Kefas noted that the move would allow the government to accommodate additional workers while sustaining the operation of the cleanliness initiative.
