Taraba Governor Agbu Kefas Set to Dump PDP for APC on Wednesday

Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, has announced that he will leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and join the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday.
He made the announcement over the weekend while inspecting renovation work at the Jolly Nyame Stadium in Jalingo. The stadium has been chosen as the venue for his major defection rally.
Speaking to journalists, Kefas said his move to the APC is aimed at securing a better future for the people of Taraba State.
He said, “I will officially move from the PDP to the APC on November 19. This decision is about the future and destiny of Taraba people. We are expecting many guests, and preparations are ongoing to make the event historic.”
When asked if there were any conditions attached to his defection, the governor insisted there were none.
In response, members of the Taraba State Executive Council have expressed full support for the governor.
Speaking on their behalf, the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Muslim Aruwa, said the governor’s appointees and political associates will follow him into the APC.
“The governor is our leader. Wherever he goes, we will follow whether APC, SDP, or ADC,” Aruwa said.
He added that aligning with the federal government is meant to bring development to Taraba State, not for personal gain.
“This movement represents the entire people of Taraba, and we stand with him 100 per cent,” he said.
