Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Bode George, has launched a blistering attack on the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, describing him as someone who should be immediately taken to a psychiatric hospital over allegations surrounding his Abuja residence.
Speaking during an interview on TVC News monitored by The News Chronicle, George was reacting to Wike’s recent claim that the elder statesman’s Abuja home was allegedly built with funds belonging to Rivers State while he served as chairman of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).
He dismissed the allegation as false, reckless and unbecoming of a public official, insisting he had no links to Rivers State resources and questioning why the FCT minister would make such claims.
“I said to myself that that young man needs to be immediately taken to the psychiatric hospital,” George said, accusing Wike of making baseless allegations without evidence.
The PDP stalwart maintained that his Abuja property was not financed with public funds and challenged anyone with proof to present it, stressing that his public service record remains open to scrutiny.
George also criticized Wike’s conduct in the ongoing political crisis within the PDP, arguing that the minister’s actions and utterances have continued to deepen divisions within the opposition party.
The latest exchange adds to the escalating war of words between the two PDP figures, whose relationship has deteriorated amid the party’s prolonged internal leadership crisis. George has repeatedly accused Wike of undermining the PDP, while Wike has continued to defend his political decisions and challenge his critics.
