Taiwo Awoniyi wins Nottingham Forest’s goal and player of the month award for August

Super Eagles striker, Taiwo Awoniyi has won the award for best goal and player of the month of August for Nottingham Forest. Awoniyi’s three goals in his first three games has contributed to the better start for the club this season.

In August, Awoniyi netted three goals in three matches, becoming only the third African player to score in seven consecutive Premier League matches.

According to Nottingham Forest, his nine goals in seven consecutive Premier League outings saw him become the first Forest player ever to do so, subsequently leading to a August Premier League Player of the Month nomination.

Having received a whopping 83% of the Player of the Month votes, Awoniyi has also won the August Goal of the Month award for his run and finish against Manchester United.

Awoniyi name was in the score sheet for the Super Eagles when they took on Sao Tome in Uyo during their AFCON qualifiers last game.
