Operatives of the Nasarawa State Police Command have intercepted 174 rounds of AK-47 ammunition and arrested a suspect, Abubakar Abdullahi, during a routine patrol.
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the development in a statement on Tuesday.
According to the statement, officers attached to the Toto Division made the interception on Monday, June 22, 2026, along the Toto–Abaji road, where the suspect was also taken into custody.
Nansel said the suspect is currently in police detention, adding that a full investigation has been launched to uncover the network behind the illegal movement of the ammunition and to apprehend other individuals linked to the case.
