The Restoration Campaign Organisation, a campaign group seeking the re-election of Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, has faulted a recent survey published by a group, Election Frontline, on the voting pattern of the people of Bayelsa State ahead of the December 5 governorship poll.
The group alleged that the survey was sponsored by the All Progressives Congress.
The survey predicted victory for the governorship candidate of the APC in the state, Timipre Sylva.
In a statement issued on Sunday by its Director of Media and Publicity, Jonathan Obuebite, the group described the survey as a prelude to alleged rigging plans of the APC in the poll.
Urging the people of Bayelsa State to disregard the survey, the pro-Dickson group said the Election Frontline predicted that Sylva, who was Bayelsa-East senatorial candidate of the APC in the 2015 general elections, would win but he lost to Senator Ben Murray-Bruce of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The statement read, “Obviously sponsored by the APC leadership, the Election Frontline simply sat in Lagos and wrote its report which unfortunately predicted that the APC governorship candidate, Timipre Sylva, would win the election. But we have decided to succinctly react to the falsehood, propaganda and blackmail of the APC pollsters to set the record straight.
“It is instructive to note that these same survey experts had predicted that the same Sylva, who was Bayelsa-East senatorial candidate of the APC in the 2015 general elections, would win but he lost woefully to Senator Ben Murray-Bruce of the PDP and this is one of the reasons why people must disregard this latest survey.”
