Nigeria is looking at the possibility of playing against Ghana in a friendly match next month in London.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), is considering ways to maximize FIFA’s friendly window in September.
Both teams were scheduled to face each other earlier this year, but FIFA refused to approve it, stating that it contravened a new rule, which does not allow a team play international friendlies within three days in two confederations.
“There is a proposal for Nigeria to play against arch-rivals Ghana in London after they would have played the AFCON qualifier in Tanzania,” a top source informed AfricanFootball.com.
“Discussions are on-going and we will just have to wait and see if this comes through.”
The Super Eagles and the Black Stars played out a goalless draw in October 2011, when they last played a friendly in London.
