Super Eagles Threaten AFCON Boycott Over Unpaid Bonuses

Nigeria’s Super Eagles players have refused to train or travel to Marrakech for their next AFCON 2025 match against Algeria until all outstanding winning bonuses are paid by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

The unpaid bonuses relate to victories over Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, and Mozambique. Players and officials remain committed to the competition but have drawn a firm line on their entitlements.

Efforts to reach the NFF for comment were unsuccessful. This follows a similar standoff in November over unpaid World Cup qualifier bonuses.
