Super Eagles star Emmanuel Dennis rejoins Watford on loan

Championship side, Watford FC has announced the signing of former player Emmanuel Dennis who returns to the club on loan from Nottingham Forest till the end of the current season.

“Watford FC is delighted to announce the return of Emmanuel Dennis, with the forward agreeing a loan deal with the Hornets until the end of the season.”

Dennis joined the Hornet in June 2021 from Belgium outfit Club Brugge where he was capped 119 times with 29 goals to his name. With Watford, Dennis featured 35 times for the Hornets during the 2021/22 Premier League season – including two appearances in the cup – scoring 10 goals and six assists before moving to Nottingham Forest in August 2022.

The 26 years suffered a declining form since joining Forest – a development that saw him join Istanbul Basaksehir on loan and has now made a return to Vicarage Road for the remainder of the 2023/24 campaign.

Nottingham Forest confirmed Dennis loan move on their official website:

“Emmanuel Dennis has completed a loan move to Watford for the remainder of the 2023/24 season.”

The forward has spent the first half of the season on loan at Istanbul Başakşehir, featuring eight times for the Turkish side.”

The 26-year-old will now spend the rest of the campaign on loan with the Hornets, having scored 10 goals in 37 games during his previous spell at Vicarage Road.

We wish Emmanuel well for the rest of the season.”

Emmanuel Dennis made the Super Eagles 41 man 2023 AFCON squad but unfortunately was dropped from the final 25 man list participating at the ongoing AFCON in Côte D’Ivoire.

He made his international debut with the Super Eagles of Nigeria in September 10, 2019 having gone through the U-23 a few months before his senior debut.
