Super Eagles Forward Chidera Suffers High-grade Hamstring Injury

Sevilla FC has confirmed that Super Eagles forward Chidera Ejuke, who joined the club this summer as a free agent, has suffered a high-grade hamstring injury, alongside Suso, who was also confirmed to have sustained a low-grade injury of a similar nature during their 5-1 colossal defeat to Barcelona on Sunday.

“Ejuke has suffered a high-grade hamstring injury, while Suso has sustained a low-grade thigh injury.”
Ejuke, who started the game on Sunday for Sevilla at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, against Barcelona, was substituted in the 45+1 minute following a suspected injury and was replaced by former Arsenal player Sambi Lokonga. The club also withdrew Suso just a minute into the second half after he reported discomfort.
The Nigerian international has scored one goal in nine games and, a few weeks ago, held the highest successful dribble rate among players in Europe’s top five leagues.
The club has yet to ascertain the full extent of Ejuke’s injury, but a high-grade hamstring injury can take a month or more to heal, especially if surgery is required.
