The Super Eagles duo of Ahmed Musa and Shehu Abdullahi returned to their boyhood club in the Nigeria Professional Football League after both were spotted training with Kano Pillars ahead of NPFL Matchday 5.
Previously, Ahmed Musa had hinted to his fans about his decision to return to the NPFL, having played in the league before his stint in Europe, where he was regarded as one of the greatest to have worn the Sai Masu Gida’s colors.
The Super Eagles captain’s contract with Sivasspor ended this summer transfer window, and no renewal was initiated, leaving him available to join any club of his choice as a free agent.
Shehu Abdullahi was last actively involved in professional football two years ago, playing with PFC Levski Sofia of Bulgaria in 2022.
The club shared this update with a tagged picture of Ahmed Musa and Shehu Abdullahi on their social media page:
“A glimpse into yesterday’s intense training session as we gear up for our crucial Nigeria Premier Football League 2024/25 Match Day 5 encounter against Sunshine Stars. This highly anticipated match will take place at our adopted home ground, Muhammad Dikko Stadium, Katsina, on Sunday, 6th October 2024, with a 4:00 pm kickoff.
Let’s bring our A-game and continue the momentum.”
Pillars, who currently sit in 14th place on the NPFL log, have won only one game this season, which was against Ikorodu City. They have lost twice and drawn once.
Their next game will be against Sunshine Stars in Katsina, but it’s uncertain if the duo of Ahmed Musa and Shehu Abdullahi will feature in the tie.
