British rapper Stormzy and TV host Maya Jama have announced their breakup.
In a joint statement, the former couple explained that they had tried to make their relationship work but ultimately decided to part ways.
Stormzy and Maya started dating in 2014 and were together for several years before breaking up in 2019. After spending five years apart, they decided to give their relationship another chance in August 2023. Despite their efforts over the past year, they realized that things still weren’t working out.
The statement highlighted their journey, saying, “We fell in love in 2014, broke up in 2019, and then spent five years maneuvering life apart. We decided to try for the final time in August 2023, and we’ve spent this past year trying our best to make it work; however, we recently decided to call it quits.”
The couple emphasized that they reached this decision mutually and with understanding, acknowledging that sometimes relationships just don’t work out despite the best efforts.
