States Get N700bn–N800bn Monthly From Federal Government -Imo Governor

Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors’ Forum and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, has claimed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu now disburses between N700 billion and N800 billion monthly to each state governor following the removal of petrol subsidy.

Uzodimma made the statement while addressing ongoing debates about the impact of subsidy removal on federal revenue distribution and state-level development.

According to him, the increased federal allocation is meant to strengthen governance at the subnational level and accelerate infrastructure and social development across the country. However, he did not provide detailed breakdowns of how the funds are shared or managed by individual states.

The claim has since generated public interest and debate, especially regarding transparency and visible development projects in various states.

In response, questions are being raised about whether citizens are experiencing corresponding improvements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic conditions.

The development comes as Nigerians continue to assess the broader economic impact of subsidy removal and rising government revenue inflows.

Observers note that clearer data from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) may be needed to verify the scale and distribution of monthly allocations to states.
