SS Lazio confirms the resignation of Maurizio Sarri

SS Lazio has announced that Maurizio Sarri has resigned his position as the head coach of Lazio’s first team.

Sarri joined the team in 2021 from Juventus and has seen the team through 137 games. This season Sarri has managed 39 games, he won 18 of them, 16 were lost and 5 draws.

“The Company thanks the technician for the goals achieved and for the work carried out, wishing him the best human and professional luck.

At the same time, the Club announces that it has decided to entrust the technical guidance to Giovanni Martusciello.”

“Never uttered words against the team, Sarri or other members”

Giovanni Martusciello, who is Sarri’s assistant, has responded to quotes suggesting he played a role in Sarri’s parting ways with the club:

“ I have never uttered words that could go against the team, against Sarri, for whom I have deep respect, or other members. I simply gave my availability to the Company, which offered me this possibility. The work that has been completed so far cannot be diminished, just as no one will be able to undermine the commitment that will be further made from now on ”.
