South African Billionaires Amass $4.5 Billion Wealth Surge in Just Over Two Months

In a remarkable financial uptick, South Africa’s wealthiest elite, including Johann Rupert and four others, have witnessed a staggering increase in their net worth, collectively amassing approximately $4.5 billion in just 72 days.
The surge in wealth occurred between January 18, 2024, and March 31, 2024, marking a period of unprecedented growth for these prominent figures. Leading the pack is Johann Rupert, whose fortune soared by a remarkable $2.08 billion, catapulting his net worth to an impressive $13.2 billion.
Following closely behind is Nassef Sawiris, whose net worth surged by $720 million, reaching a substantial $8.64 billion, trailed by Natie Kirsh with a $680 million increase, bringing his total wealth to $8.26 billion.
Meanwhile, Naguib Sawiris experienced a notable gain of $570 million, elevating his net worth to $6.69 billion, while Mohammed Al Amoudi saw a $500 million rise, securing a total of $9.16 billion.
Collectively, these billionaires now command a staggering net worth of $46 billion, a testament to their financial prowess and strategic investments.
The surge in wealth has been attributed to the robust performance of their shares and stakes in various companies, with industries like luxury watches showing promising growth prospects.
