Sophia Momodu, who has a daughter named Imade with superstar singer Davido, has filed legal papers opposing Davido’s request for joint custody.
Davido claimed in his suit that Sophia was preventing him from seeing Imade and asking for large sums of money.
Davido said he and Sophia agreed to co-parent Imade after their relationship ended years ago. However, Davido accused Sophia of not honoring their agreement. He claimed she refused his offer of a house and demanded a monthly payment of N5 million.
In response, Sophia denied Davido’s accusations. She stated they had a relationship from 2020 to 2022 while he was dating someone else. Sophia insisted she never blocked Davido from seeing Imade and accused him of abandoning their daughter because she refused to have a physical relationship with him.
Sophia’s legal team, Dr. Anthony Idigbe SAN and Dr. Bimpe Ajegbomogun of Punuka Attorneys, filed a detailed affidavit contesting Davido’s custody request. The next court hearing for Sophia and Davido is scheduled for July 5, 2024.
