Soludo Moves to Strengthen Anambra’s Governance Through Partnership with NGOs, Development Partners

The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with credible non-governmental organisations and development partners to advance the state’s development agenda through its Public-Private-Community Partnership (PPCP) initiative.

The Deputy Governor, Dr. OnyekaChukwu Ibezim, made this known while receiving members of the Soludozie Anambra Volunteers and Ambassadors Network during a courtesy visit to his office at the Government House in Awka.

Dr. Ibezim described the formation of the organisation as a welcome development, expressing confidence that it would complement the efforts of Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo’s administration in delivering sustainable development across communities in the state.

He explained that the Public-Private-Community Partnership initiative provides a platform for individuals, philanthropists, and organisations to collaborate with the government in implementing impactful community-based projects.

The Deputy Governor recalled the remarkable achievements recorded through the initiative and urged the organisation to identify and attract more public-spirited individuals willing to contribute to the development of Anambra State.

“All hands must be on deck in the collective pursuit of a greater Anambra. We assure you of the government’s readiness to partner with you in consolidating the achievements of the Soludo administration.

“I sincerely appreciate you for this visit, and I am confident that the leadership of your organisation has all it takes to realise the laudable vision of partnering with this administration to achieve Anambra’s development,” Ibezim said.

Earlier, the Founder and General Coordinator of the Soludozie Anambra Volunteers and Ambassadors Network, Mazi Kechukwu Cyril Nwuche, PhD, said the organisation was established to partner with the Anambra State Government in promoting and supporting its developmental programmes.

He disclosed that the network is already expanding beyond Nigeria, with its Canadian chapter having commenced operations as part of its planned diaspora structure.

Dr. Nwuche also announced that the organisation would be officially inaugurated on September 27 in Awka and invited the Deputy Governor to serve as the Guest of Honour at the event, where he is expected to be conferred with the title of First Grand Patron of the association.

He further revealed that Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo had also been invited as the Special Guest of Honour and would be requested to formally inaugurate the organisation.

Nwuche appealed to the state government to officially recognise the organisation as a non-governmental partner in driving development across the state, adding that the Governor would be honoured with the title of Chief Ambassador of the association.

In a vote of thanks, the association’s Director of Diaspora Affairs, Dr. Peace Okafor, reaffirmed the group’s commitment to supporting the developmental vision of the Soludo administration. She assured the Deputy Governor that members of the organisation were ready to work in partnership with the government to advance the progress and development of Anambra State.
