Snoop Dogg Lights Up Olympic Torch at Paris 2024

Snoop Dogg, at 52 years old, has recently added the role of Olympic torchbearer to his long list of achievements.

On Friday morning, he carried the Olympic flame in Saint-Denis, a northern suburb of Paris, next to the Stade de France stadium. The event took place as part of the Paris 2024 Olympics.

His part of the relay was the penultimate leg before Friday night’s opening ceremony, and it went off without a hitch. Snoop Dogg was one of the final torchbearers, with the Olympic flame having been lit in April in Greece and making its way to Paris since then.

In an interview earlier in the week, Snoop Dogg expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, stating, “I look at this as a prestigious honor and something I truly respect. I would have never dreamed of nothing like this. I’m going to be on my best behavior. I’m going to be on my best athleticism. I’ll be able to breathe slow to walk fast and hold the torch with a smile on my face because I realize how prestigious this event is.”

Snoop Dogg is also in Paris to help cover the Games for NBC, as part of the U.S. broadcaster’s strategy to boost ratings by infusing their coverage with pop culture.
