Shehu of Bama praises Nigerian Army for restoring peace in his emirate

The Shehu of Bama, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Umar Kyari Umar El-Kanemi, praised the soldiers of the 7 Division Nigerian Army, who are part of the 21 Special Armoured Brigade (SAB) stationed in Bama of Borno State, for their professionalism and resilience in bringing peace to his Emirate.

He gave this praise on Sunday, February 11, 2024, during a visit by Brigadier General Abubakar Haruna, the Acting General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 7 Division and Commander Sector 1 Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), to the Shehu’s palace in Bama.

The Shehu commended General Haruna and his troops for their dedication and sacrifices, which have helped to bring relative peace to the Emirate.

He also assured General Haruna of his full support and emphasized the importance of the military’s efforts in allowing socio-economic activities to thrive in the region.

General Haruna, in turn, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome from the Shehu and promised continued cooperation between the military and the people of Bama.

He assured the Shehu that the Division, under his leadership, would remain committed to its responsibilities and work tirelessly to maintain peace in the area.

During his visit to Headquarters 21 SAB in Bama, General Haruna assessed the operational readiness of the troops under Brigadier General SS Diwa.

He commended the soldiers for effectively securing their area of responsibility and urged them to remain aggressive in their efforts to defeat insurgents.

Later, General Haruna visited the 151 Task Force Battalion at Banki Junction, where he was briefed by Lieutenant Colonel NP Ochasi.

He thanked the troops for their achievements and encouraged them to continue their efforts.

The visit was attended by various military commanders and staff officers, including Brigadier General AO Kazeem and Brigadier General EN Akpan, demonstrating the unity and collaboration within the military in maintaining peace and security in the region.
