Nigerian singer Seyi Vibez shared how he was scammed while trying to join Wizkid’s record label, Starboy Entertainment, early in his career.

He explained that he searched online for how to join Starboy Entertainment and found a phone number. When he called, he was asked to pay N10,000 for a registration form. After making the payment, he was blocked by the scammer.

The ‘Cana’ hitmaker revealed this story during a recent interview with Wazobia FM in Lagos.

Vibez said, “When I was 13, I wanted to join Starboy. I Googled how to register and found a number. The person who answered said I needed to pay N10,000 for a form. I sold my phone to pay, but then the person blocked me. He claimed to be Wizkid’s recruitment officer and said I would have to perform in front of Wizkid. I fell for it.”

He advised new artists not to try joining record labels online.
