Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, who represents Borno south and serves as Senate Majority Whip, recently launched a big project to help people. He gave out things to 1,010 women in nine areas of Borno South.Â
These things included machines for sewing and grinding, fridges, gas cookers, tricycles, and money to help them.
He wants to help people in his area learn how to take care of themselves, especially because there has been a lot of trouble there.
He also gave support to orphans, giving them money, clothes, and things for school through a group called MOWEI.
At an event, Senator Ndume told the women to use the things he gave them wisely, especially for starting their own businesses or farming. He said this could help them become independent and make a better life for themselves.
His wife, Hajia Maryam Ali Ndume, spoke on his behalf at the event. She said they will keep helping people and thanked Professor Babagana Umara Zullum for also helping with women’s development.
Senator Ndume also praised the women for joining a farming program called the Ndume Sustainable Farming System. He said this could make life better for them by giving them jobs and improving their community.
Others at the event, like the wife of the deputy governor, praised Senator Ndume for focusing on helping women. They said it’s important to have programs like this to make Borno south better for everyone.
Many important people came to the event, including leaders from the Biu area, members of the APC party, Senator Ndume’s helpers, youth leaders, and other important people from the community.
