Senator Isaiah Balat, a former minister of state for works and housing during the first term of President Olusegun Obasanjo died yesterday at the age of 62. He died of an undisclosed ailment at the National hospital, Abuja.
Mr Balat served as a senator from 2003 to 2007. Until his death he was an aide for special duties to Vice President Namadi Sambo. He was also at the forefront of President Jonathan’s campaign in 2011.
The President has expressed shock at his sad demise, and more condolences are pouring in from top politicians who knew him.
