Security Tightened in Maiduguri Ahead of President Tinubu’s Visit

Security agencies in Borno State have stepped up safety measures ahead of the visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Maiduguri. The move is aimed at ensuring public safety and allowing the President’s activities to go on without disruption.
The Borno State Police Command confirmed that it has deployed a large number of officers and security units across the state in preparation for the visit. Borno remains a sensitive area due to past security challenges linked to insurgency.
In a statement issued on Saturday, December 20, 2025, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Daso, said the deployment includes regular police officers, tactical teams, surveillance units, crowd control personnel, and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) operatives.
According to the statement, the security arrangements are in place to ensure a smooth and safe visit for the President and residents of the state
