Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has said his administration is prepared to listen to the demands of the abductors behind the attack on Ahoro-Esinele school in order to secure the safe release of the victims.
Makinde made the statement while briefing journalists after a meeting with service chiefs at his private residence in Ibadan.
“We are ready to listen to the abductors’ demands to save the lives of the victims and ensure their safe return,” the governor said.
He stressed that while the government would not concede to acts of terrorism, it was committed to taking all necessary steps to rescue the abducted persons safely.
The meeting with security chiefs focused on coordinating response efforts following the attack. Further details on the number of victims and their condition were not disclosed during the briefing.
