Popular singer Michael Adebayo Olayinka, known as Ruger, claims that Nigeria has fewer than five talented musicians. He believes most Nigerian artists are just making music for fun.
In a recent interview with Cool FM, Lagos, Ruger said there are fewer than five truly talented musicians in Nigeria, but he did not specify who they are or where he ranks among them.
“I’m not the biggest artist in Nigeria, but in terms of talent, I’m among the top five,” he said. “Most people are just singing for fun, but we, the talented artists, make real music.”
Ruger also mentioned his surprise at discovering his large fan base in Israel, where he sold out a 7,000-capacity venue.
