Popular singer Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy, claims that his twin brother Peter Okoye, known as Mr. P, was responsible for his recent arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In a recent interview with City FM in Lagos, Rudeboy explained that Mr. P wrote a complaint to the EFCC, accusing him of fraudulent activities. Despite a thorough investigation that cleared Rudeboy of all charges, his twin brother refused to apologize for the false accusations.
Rudeboy shared his experience, saying, “This year, I was summoned by the EFCC because of a petition from my twin brother. I never thought our disagreement would go this far. I thought it was just about music.”

He continued, “People were asking me, ‘What do you do?’ Someone said, ‘You might go to jail for 20 years.’ At the EFCC office, they showed me all my account statements and asked me to explain every transaction.”
Rudeboy added, “I wondered, what if I was involved in fraud? My brother would have ruined me. The investigation made me uncomfortable, especially when they asked me to get a lawyer and sureties. I did everything they asked.”
He concluded, “A month ago, the EFCC called me, my twin brother, and our elder brother Jude Okoye. They told us, ‘After all investigations, Paul is innocent. He is cleared of all accusations.’ Despite being proven innocent, my twin brother never apologized for the false allegations.”
The incident has caused a significant rift between the twins, leaving Rudeboy hurt and disappointed by his brother’s actions.
